National TV Awards results
BBC series Doctor Who has won three prizes at the National TV Awards, voted for by the public, and presented ay the Royal Albert Hall last night. The awards were for most popular drama, most popular actor (Christopher Eccleston) and most popular acctress (Billie Piper)

Average person spends £21,000 on music
A survery by TNS carried out for the Prudential in September, involving 1188 people, has found that the average person spends around £21,000 on music during their lives. The figure of £21,000 includes the amount spent on music equipment and visiting concerts as well as the purchases of CDs and records. The survey also found that the average person owns nearly £900 worth of music playing equipment

Lennon photo tops magazine poll
A photograph of a naked John Lennon, which was taken the day he was shot, has been named the top US magazine cover of the past 40 years.
The photo appeared on the front of The Rolling Stone magazine and was published a month after Lennon was murdered in December 1980. It shows Lennon curled around Yoko Ono. The 1991 Vanity Fair cover depicting a pregnant Demi Moore came second
